Meherabad Bound

After Homeward Bound by Paul Simon

I’m waiting here in God’s creation

Getting restless for my destination

Life’s detours I can no longer stand

But this final trip is in His hands

And every stop’s been neatly planned

For this poet and his one man band

Homeward bound

I wish I was Meherabad bound

Home, where my mind’s been staying

Home, where my music’s playing

Home, where my Love lies waiting

Silently for me

Everyday’s an endless stream

Of sheer nonsense and useless dreams

And each place looks the same to me

The people and the scenery

All shadows of what I want to see

Reminding me that I long to be

Homeward bound

I wish I was Meherabad bound

Home, where my mind’s been staying

Home, where my music’s playing

Home, where my Love lies waiting

Silently for me

Today I’ll sing my songs again

I’ll play the game and pretend

But all my words come back to me

With increasing insanity

Like emptiness and love’s longing to be

I need God’s grace to come to me

Homeward bound

I wish I was Meherabad bound

Home, where my mind’s been staying

Home, where my music’s playing

Home, where my Love lies waiting

Silently for me

Silently for me

Silently for me
